C1 Stormproof Timber Options
We have done significant research on the performance of timber in our windows. We have a guide on timber which contains information on the performance of timber that we use. If you would like any further advice, please contact us .
Standard Specification
For Stormproof Casement windows we offer Redwood Woodheart as standard on all frames and sashes with PEFC or FSC chain of custody. If a Plant on Cill is specified this will be manufactured from Hardwood with full PEFC or FSC conformance if required.
Options
In addition to Redwood Woodheart we offer the following materials. These can be selected as any combination if required.
Red Grandis: Red Grandis is species of Eucalyptus which we now use as standard on all of our door leaves. It can also be used on other products where a stable and durable hardwood is required. It is plantation grown in Uruguay and comes with FSC Chain of Custody. It provides a stable and durable substrate for the manufacture of doors and windows and is supplied as three ply laminated material for extra stability. It is available in long clear lengths making it highly suitable for stain finishes where no finger joints are preferred.
Accoya: Accoya is exceptionally stable, has the highest durability rating, has FSC Chain of Custody and provides the ultimate substrate for our coating system allowing us to give a coatings warranty of up to 12 years. See our PDF for more information on Accoya.
European Oak: We use knot free laminated European Oak and has FSC chain of Custody. Beautiful looking windows made with naturally durable timber.
Clear Douglas Fir: This provides knot free stable timber as a good substrate for our coating system.
Tropical Hardwood: We also have a choice of various tropical hardwoods which can provide an excellent substrate for our coating system, have a great appearance and provide natural durability.
