Design & Manufacture
We have a wealth of knowledge in the design and manufacture of timber windows and door sets. We are involved with various technical committees of the British Woodworking Federation and are involved with the development of British Standards.
Research
We have been involved with a number of research projects with the BRE in the UK, SHR in Holland and through a SMART Award for the developments of joint design. This has helped us gain the knowledge to design and manufacture truly excellent products.
We extensively test our products to understand and improve their performance. Tests include weather performance, ironmongery performance, security, long term weathering of the coating systems, double glazed unit performance within our products, acoustic and thermal.
CAD & CAM
We were one of the first joinery companies in the UK to use CAD CAM manufacturing and have developed an integrated software system that produces quotations with full CAD drawings, U values and details specifications. On confirmation of order, this information is sent directly to machinery. This allows our customers to understand exactly what products they will receive.
Attention To Detail
True attention to every small detail allows us to produce superior products. For example, we use resorcinol formaldehyde adhesive on our joints. This is an expensive two pack adhesive but BRE research has proved it to give the best long term performance. We have humidity control throughout our manufacturing areas to stop the timber drying out too much. When painting our products we use a different mid coat to top coat. It is then obvious when recoating is required.
