Efficient Design

Our windows have been designed to be thermally efficient and last a long time. This means that the windows save energy when they are installed and the energy inputs required to manufacture them are apportioned over a longer period.

Thermal Performance

There has been a huge increase in the importance placed on the thermal performance of buildings in recent years due to both environmental factors and the rising costs of energy. The Building Regulations Document Part L provides guidance on what is required, but to achieve a more environmentally friendly and low cost building, many will want to go further.

Our window and door designs are optimised through thermal modelling by our in-house BFRC simulator. The window U-value and Window Energy Rating is then displayed on all quotations.

This approach to thermal efficiency resulted in the manufacture of the first A rated timber window in the UK and what we learnt from this window has been incorporated into all of our product designs enabling all of our windows to meet an A rating if required (the BFRC recently released a scheme for the simulation of doors, which we are in the process of implementing).

All of our windows and doors come as standard with a high performance glazing system optimised for thermal efficiency and a clear neutral appearance. The result is more light coming into your property, a clearer view and lower heating costs. When coupled with a warm edge spacer bar (the part that separates the two panes of glass) most windows are available with an A rating.

Our window and door are designed to last with minimal maintenance. As well as providing you with better value for money and less hassle to keep your property in perfect condition, it ensures that the manufacturing inputs are apportioned over a longer period of time.
