High Quality Materials

Timber

We use the highest quality timber, whether it is our standard engineered redwood heartwood, a range of sustainably sourced hardwoods or the most durable treated timber available – Accoya. Through the use of clear engineered timber, we are able to ensure that the product is free of defects that are the most common reason for the coating to fail. Our Timber Specification Guide provides more detail on how to select the correct timber for your application and the timber options relating to each of our products are shown on the relevant product page.

Coatings

We use high quality factory applied coatings, manufactured by the market leader in this specialist field - Sikkens.  Base and mid coats are applied by fully immersing the items to provide complete saturation getting into every cut out and joint, ensuring protection of vital end grain sections.  We then apply specialist end grain sealers to further reduce unwanted moisture uptake.  Top coats are sprayed, providing a perfect smooth finish with no brush marks. The performance of the coating is backed by impressive guarantees, ours being the very best the industry has to offer.  When recoating is eventually required just wash down and re-apply Sikkens brush coatings. For more information see our Coatings Specification Guide.

Glass

With a wide range of glazing options, we can give the required performance in terms of visual appearance, thermal properties, acoustic properties, safety and security performance, as well as a number of additional features including self cleaning glass, integrated blinds, stained glass. All products are in accordance to the British Standards to allow us to Kitemark the product. See our Glazing Specification Guide for more information.

Ironmongery

We have a wide range of high quality ironmongery to give you the exact finish that you require, all specified to compliment the quality of our products. See the product pages for information on the options.

Long Life with Low Maintenance

Through a combination of materials, design and testing, the result is a window that will last a very long time and requires minimal maintenance. All aspects of the design are considered to ensure that they form a stable substrate for our advanced coating system. This stability ensures that the coating system performance is maintained and with simple infrequent recoating will do for many years and with this in place so will the windows and doors.

Technical Expertise

We have worked with the Building Research Establishment (BRE), both in Watford and Scotland, SHR Timber Research in Holland & the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) to progress the development of timber window design. This has allowed us to take a leading role in the development of British Standards.
