At George Barnsdale we are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations through the adoption of sustainable practices and continual improvement in environment policies.
This approach really is at the heart of everything we do. From procurement to design and manufacture, we aim to reduce the impact that we have on the environment.
Timber from sustainable sources
We only use FSC® certified timber from sustainable sources.
By sourcing only FSC® certified timber we have the assurance that all of our timber comes from well-managed forests.
Reducing waste in manufacture
In the manufacture of our timber windows and doors, we are proactive in minimising the production of waste. As such, we have made factory efficiency a fundamental business goal.
We recycle our waste products to heat water and provide hot air for our paint drying process.

Saving energy through good design
Timber is a natural insulator and when coupled with high performance glass, offers excellent insulation against heat loss from your home.
In the design of our product range, we strive to optimise this natural potential. We were the first UK timber window and door manufacturer to produce an A rated timber window, and are dedicated to having the widest range of energy rated timber products in the country.
As well as excellent thermal performance, we design our products to last with little maintenance. This means that the production inputs are recovered many times over.
