Sustainability in Design

We are committed to designing timber windows and doors that are thermally efficient and will last a long-time, with minimal maintenance.

All product designs are optimised through thermal modelling by our in-house BFRC simulator. Our approach to thermal efficiency resulted in us manufacturing the first A rated timber window in the UK.

As standard, all of our timber windows and doors include a high performance glazing system that is optimised for thermal efficiency and a clear neutral appearance. The result is increased light coming into the property, a clearer view and lower heating costs.

Sustainability in Manufacture

To reduce our energy consumption and the environmental impact of manufacturing timber windows and doors, we are committed to reducing wastage and enhancing factory efficiency.

First and foremost, none of our timber goes to waste. We have a 300kw boiler that uses the waste to heat the factory and nearby office, in addition to fuelling the paint drying line throughout the year. We also convert shavings to timber briquettes which are sold to local residents for use on wood burning fires.

We monitor energy consumption and implement improvements to reduce it, which have previously included installing auto shut-off systems for extraction and the implementation of a building management system for lighting and heating.

And, most recently, we have recently expanded our solar panel coverage across the site.
