Traditional Timber Pivot Windows

The flexibility of our timber pivot windows allows the design to accommodate asymmetrical shapes. This allows it to be specified for a broad range of applications.

Advanced flush hinges allow large, heavy sashes up to 250kg in weight to pivot around the horizontal axis with 180 degrees of rotation. For smaller pivot windows, where flush hinges cannot be incorporated, surface mounted hinges are featured to ensure that the window’s exceptional performance is maintained.

The 180 degree movement allows ease of cleaning. The sash can be rotated to allow the external glass to be easily cleaned from the inside. This movement can be achieved with almost any shape.

Our timber pivot windows, as is the case for all window designs in the Traditional Range, are designed for high performance and long life with low maintenance. Security is provided by a multi-point locking system which distributes the lock mechanism around the entire window frame. Excellent weather performance is achieved by discreetly positioned dual weather seals in the frame.

Durability is achieved by our choice of timber and the way in which we apply our coatings. As standard we manufacture pivot windows from Engineered Redwood; an excellent timber species for products requiring a paint finish. We can also manufacture from Grandis Hardwood, European Oak and Accoya®. To browse our timber options, visit the Materials tab.

Traditional Timber Pivot Windows - Key Features

Timber Pivot Window - multi-point locking for high security

High Security

Rather than trusting the robustness of a single locking point, our multi-point system distributes the lock mechanism around the entire window frame.

Timber tilt and turn windows - dual weather seals for excellent weather performance.

Excellent Weather Performance

Dual weather seals help to retain warmth and exclude noise and moisture. To avoid detracting from the authentic appearance, the weather seals are discreetly located in the window frame.

Timber pivot windows - open in situ

Suitable for asymmetrical shapes

The pivot system will accommodate opening windows of irregular shapes. The 180 degree movement can be achieved with almost any shape that is symmetrical along the pivot axis.
