Traditional Timber Tilt & Turn Windows

The versatility of timber tilt and turn windows mean that they are suitable for a wide variety of building types and applications. For the Traditional Range we have adapted the design of this window type to enable a perfect fit with period properties.

Incorporating a dual hinge system, the window can open into the room from either the top (tilt position) or the side (turn position). The tilt position allows for secure ventilation; achievable with the specialist tilt and turn handle from the Original Collection - see the Furniture tab for more details. The turn position allows the window to turn inwards to enable easy cleaning of the outside glass and frame.

For purposes of security, our timber tilt and turn windows incorporate multi-point locking. The multi-point locking system provides locking points around all four sides of the sash. We incorporate this same locking system in shaped, arched and angled window designs.

Excellent weather performance is achieved by the incorporation of dual weather seals. Discreetly located in the frame to avoid detracting from the authentic appearance, the dual weather seals help to retain warmth and exclude noise and moisture.

With high performance hinge mechanisms, our timber tilt and turn windows can support a large number of sizes, including triple-glazed units. Depending upon your project requirements, we can also apply acoustic laminates, toughened glass and security laminated glass. For further details on our glazing options please see the Materials tab.
