George Barnsdale windows take centre stage at Fensterbau Frontale

From 21 to 24 March 2018, wood and window specialists from all over the world gathered in Nuremberg for the combined Fensterbau Frontale and Holz-Handwerk exhibition. With 17 halls of exhibitions, the show showcases the latest trends in woodworking and wood processing in the window, door and façade segment.

The show was celebrating its 30th anniversary and surpassed its promise to be the biggest and best one ever. Although it takes place in Germany, there was a real global feel to this years show, with more than 50% of the exhibitors and visitors residing outside of the German border.

This year 1,328 exhibitors from 42 countries exhibited at Fensterbau to around 111,000 international visitors. On the Accoya stand, a number of George Barnsdale sash windows were on display from an ongoing test that they have been carrying out with their leading modified timber suppliers.

FENSTERBAU FRONTALE

The test started back in 2010 and the sashes are still looking good and going strong. This test is just one example of the many that George Barnsdale carry out on a regular basis and just another example of the tireless research and development programme continuously being undertaken to ensure they continue to maintain their position as leaders in the field and manufacturers of the best products on the market.

Over the past 134 years George Barnsdale have manufactured a variety of products form Accoya wood. The wood is a modified timber which involves a process called acetylation, which uses cutting edge patented technology to modify the timber and ensures it is resistant to rot, defies the elements and stays as good as new for longer.

Because of its ability to battle the elements, George Barnsdale encourage all customers to use Accoya in locations that are going to have to stand up to the weather, such as seaside resorts and wet projects throughout the UK.
