Historic Wooden Yorkshire Sash Windows

Working closely with planning authorities and conservation officers, we have developed a replacement wooden Yorkshire sash window that is designed to provide an accurate match to the original. In our design approach we have considered ways to provide the optimum balance between comfort and authenticity.

Both single and narrow double-glazing is available. Our narrow double-glazing has been designed to replace single-glazing in historic buildings where the fitting of standard double-glazing units is restricted. Featuring reduced sightlines, the narrow double-glazing units provide a compromise between energy efficiency and authenticity.

Our replacement wooden Yorkshire sash window incorporates only the highest quality window furniture to provide excellent security. For a perfect fit with your home, the sash furniture is available in a number of different finishing options. To browse the finishing options, please refer to the Furniture tab.

For further customisation we offer an extensive selection of paint and stain colours. If the colour that you require is not included in our selection, then we do offer a colour matching service. To colour match we would require either a RAL reference or a physical sample. See the Materials tab for further detail.

To ensure that you are able to open and close the replacement wooden Yorkshire sash window with ease, we’ve incorporated a low resistance track system into the design. For excellent weather performance, we fit weather seals into the frame. Discreetly positioned the weather seals do not detract from the authentic appearance of the window.

Narrow Profiles

To allow for accurate replication, the sashes and frames can be supplied with very narrow profiles. This is particularly important on the meeting rail (where the two sashes meet) where we are able to supply a 35mm width for single glazing and a 40mm width for double glazing.

Choice of profiles

For period detailing we offer solid glazing bars - 21mm for single glazing and 24mm for narrow cavity glazing. All external facing bars are manufactured from Accoya®.
