George Barnsdale’s windows steal a march on Jarrow

View project details

Project Description

Jarrow in the North East of England is an area with a very interesting history, most famously the Jarrow marchers. This listed property must have witnessed many of the events that the town is famous for throughout its existence. With its original stone construction typical of the area and its beautiful stone mullions, it is a fine example of the cottages throughout this area. When it came to the replacement of the windows, it was important to replicate the orginals as closely as possible in order to satisfy the planners. George Barnsdale’s Historic range was selected for its sympathetic design and high performance with historic bevel sash profiles and historic square frame profile. Antique Brass hardware from the Classic Collection sits beautifully alongside the putty glazed units.

By working with planning authorities and conservation officers on the development of the range, a number of authentic design details are incorporated, including flush joints and solid glazing bars. To replicate original glazing we are able to  offer hand or machine drawn-glass to meet stricter planning requirements.
