Historic Wooden French Doors

We have developed our historic wooden French doors to match original aesthetics, whilst providing modern performance. Replicating the aesthetics of a period French door, we offer a one handle locking system.

Available as both inward and outward opening, our outward opening historic wooden French doors are fitted with a restrictor to limit opening to 90 degrees. This helps to prevent damage from the door being blown in the wind against the outside wall.

From a glazing perspective we can incorporate coloured, stained and obscure glass to either single or narrow cavity double-glazed units. Narrow cavity double-glazed units provide a compromise between energy efficiency and authenticity of the replacement wooden French doorset. If needed, we can help you present different glazing options to your Conservation Officer and provide case studies of other historic French doorsets that we’ve manufactured and installed on properties of historic interest.

With the ability to customise designs to the exact period requirements of your home, we offer a number of paint, stain finish and door furniture options. To browse all options please click on the Materials and Furniture tabs above. Please be aware that if the colour you are looking for isn’t included in our collection, then we can colour match to your precise needs.

For complete authenticity, solid glazing bars can also be fitted. Plus, we can accommodate sidelights and fanlights to the complete the picture.
